The Tirajana Crater is one of the greatest natural monuments in Gran Canaria. It is an ideal environment to practice sports and outdoor activities. Besides this at La Fortaleza archaeological site and interpretation centre you will enjoy many other cultural and scenic resources.
St. Lucía has a broad network of traditional paths suitable for hiking, some of which pass by the site and interpretation centre.
Nearby the Presa de La Sorrueda reservoir, and the magnificent palm groves of La Sorrueda and El Ingenio can be admired. There is also a nature classroom in the area and a climbing zone with a whole range of vertical ascents.
The historic quarter of St. Lucia offers a rich representation of the traditional rural architecture of Gran Canaria, as well as points of interest such as the church, the El Valle oil mill and many restaurants that offer the best of the traditional Canarian gastronomy.
